The Society of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Enthusiasts (SUAVE) facilitates and promotes safe and coordinated research and operation of UAVs by undergraduates. SUAVE also helps members explore interests in aviation, engineering, autonomy, control theory, rapid prototyping, and aerial cinematography. Additionally, SUAVE members and aircraft are a resource to the Brown community for providing aerial photography and videography.
Art with AircraftWith UAV technology, we have the means to bring our creativity to new heights. Imagine using a long exposure camera to capture the flight path of an illuminated aircraft. Change your perspective by putting cameras in new locations. Choreograph multiple aircraft for a stunning and graceful aerial dance. The sky is no longer the limit for what you can accomplish...

Flying RobotsAt the heart of every UAS is a flight controller. Nowadays, these flight controllers have the computational power to process much more than simple motion control. Computer vision? LIDAR? Geiger counters??? What will you put on our drones? SUAVE emphasizes experimentation and development to maximize the capabilities of our favorite flying robots.
